Purpose
In accordance with the UK’s government’s clear policy, A2i is committed to reducing Modern Slavery across the world and ensuring we provide transparency in our supply chains and ways of working to that effect. This statement intends to provide assurance for our past, current and future partners that we take this issue seriously and maintain the prevention of modern slavery in our key procurement decisions.
Scope
This statement applies to all employees of A2i, including sub-contractors.
Goals
Our aims are to:
- Ensure all A2i employees are aware of the implications of modern slavery and what A2i can do to help prevent it;
- Increase awareness of Modern Slavery for employees purchase decisions in their private lives;
- Instigate an annual review into A2i’s supply chains, limited as they are;
- Create a forum in which A2i employees can discuss and promote any anti-Slavery initiatives;
- Advocate for our partner businesses to also adopt best practices in their supply chains.
Due Diligence
Our considerations when reviewing
- Hardware Supply Chains - Any large purchases made by A2i are predominantly through UK-Based, high-street retailers such as Currys PC World, Dixon Carphone and Amazon, all of whom have their own robust Modern Slavery Statements.
- Seasonal working - None of A2i’s staff are seasonal workers and we do not currently work with any companies that have seasonal employees.
- Partners - The nature of our work (partnering with emerging companies) presents us with an opportunity to influence those companies to build resilient, fair and sustainable supply chains, which we do.
Responsibilities
Both employers and employees have a role in making decisions that prevent the conditions for Modern Slavery.
We all need to:
- Review / read this statement and seek clarification from the CEO / COO / CoS where required.
